New Tao - A Metaphysical Translation
Buy on Amazon
The 'Daodejing' ("Tao te Ching") was written between the third through eighth century B.C. in Ancient China by a man named Lao-tzu, and others. The book 'in toto' is most comparable to Ecclesiastes in The Old Testament. The intent of the book is to instruct the sovereign to become holy, of Heaven, and to learn The Way.
Prior to translating from the original Chinese, the following translations, among the many, were read: Crowley, Legge, Mitchell, Feng/English, McCarroll, Star, & Goddard. This translation is intended to return the words to the original "rugged simplicity" inherent to Eastern philosophy.
